Demo of the OFNet Tool chain - An open source SDN emulator, visual debugger, traffic generator & performance monitor - Wow!!!
Developed by Ganesh Handige Shankar, Principal Engineer, Ericsson
Dedicated to the Open-source Community!!!
Have’nt we felt the need for a network emulator, a network traffic generator, a good debugger – and how many times have we felt that it should not squeeze our pockets! Have’nt we felt the pain of analyzing huge logs – how much have we felt a need for visually seeing the flows and reduce the time taken for debugging issues ! This session is aimed at providing you a solution for all these problems !!!
If you are an SDN application developer how do you test your SDN application? When a flow fails in an SDN network how do you debug the controller logic? How do you analyze performance characteristics of an SDN controller that you use? How many hours have you spent so far analyzing Wireshark captures to debug an SDN issue? How about an emulation environment that can run on your laptop and help you with SDN network emulation, visual debugging using graphs and auto generated time sequence diagrams of switch-controller transactions and an environment comes with a tunable traffic generator and performance monitor? That is what OFNet is all about which we will cover in this demo.
Looking forward to meeting you all again at the same place - at Ericsson this friday at 4:30PM
